Kitchens, Babes, Tough McGruff Attitudes & Bull Riders To Boot

I love watching and listening to the kids at the preschool where I work at. It is too funny to see them interact with one another on a daily basis, and it's even funnier watching them already settling into their God given roles as little women and men. The biblical femininity and masculinity roles are already within each and every one of the kids in my classroom....and their roles are just waiting for them to be stepped into one day when they're grown! It's cute to see them exemplify these roles at such a young age. A few of the girls in my class room today decided to play in the kitchen center. While two of the girls were 'cooking' in their center they were also tending to their 'babies.' I found myself smiling, and laughing under my breath at the sight of watching the two of the girls holding their 'babies' with such tender care, all the while they were trying to clean up and work in the kitchen.

I turned around to see what two of the boys in the other center were doing...and they had me laughing and smiling too. The two boys were playing together roughly, as most little boys do. The one of the little boys announced to me 'We're going to Texas to go bull riding teacher!' I stood there smiling at the two of them being all tough and masculine and just kept on listening to them talking and smiled at them. The boys wanted me to stay and watch them bull fight, because they wanted to highlight their 'manly' skills in front of an audience....and in this particular instance I was that audience.

Oh my.....the antics of princesses and knights in training cracks me up! I love all of 'my kids' so much already and I haven't even worked at the school for a whole week yet.  I feel like a mother hen, a teacher, and an example of Christ that is meant to shine bright daily for all of my kiddos to see. I love love love my new job! I am only in the 'training' stage, but as of Friday I will be in charge of a classroom all by myself for a little while. I am looking forward to working in my room all by myself for a while with my kiddos. Honestly...I could talk about each and every one of the awesome kiddos at the school all day long....about how wonderful it feels to teach them, to take care of them, to smile and laugh with them, and to glimpse the little people that they are currently and are striving to become daily....they are so desperately wanting to be 'BIG' and it brings me such joy to see them in every facet of 'themselves!'

Loving working with the kiddos......can't wait to see them again tomorrow,
