30 Day Challenge - Day 9

Day 18 - {a time when I felt passionate and alive}
Valentine's Day weekend this year would have to be the time when I felt most passionate and alive. I was visiting my boyfriend, Jared, for V-Day weekend this year and it started snowing while we were out with his family. We got back to the house and J and I sat in the living room watching the snow fall down from the darkening sky. Then Jared (my bf), Seth (bf's brother) and I decided to go have some fun outdoors...the snow was still falling and we all started running around wildly and we had a snow-ball fight, and then Jared and I made beautiful snow seraphs on the freshly snow covered ground that night. Plus knowing that it was snowing while I was with my bf on V-Day weekend, and that I wasn't going to have to celebrate the holiday as just another singles awareness day really brightened my spirit...and the snow and being with Jared made me feel alive, with passionate love blooming in my life! *Jared also wrote me a poem for V-Day!* :-)

Day 19- {a talent of mine}

I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old.......that means that I've been pounding the keys away for 15 years now so far! I love playing the piano as much as I love teaching piano. Music, especially playing the piano (and singing too) is an outlet for me...something that sets my heart and soul alight and at ease. At first I took piano lessons because I wanted to be like my best friend who was taking lessons, and then slowly but surely playing piano became 'my thing.' After many years of lessons and hard work at learning how to play and advance into an adult level I felt the need to convey to my teacher that I would one day like to teach lessons myself...and the rest is history because now I am a piano teacher myself!

My other talents include: writing poetry and singing.
Click HERE to view a video of me playing piano and singing. I'll admit that the song I sing in the video is not one that is best suited for my voice, but I just l-o-v-e the song though!

Day 20 - {a hobby of mine}
Quilting. I started this lovely blue and yellow Around The World quilt quite a few years back.....and I only recently finished it a few months ago. I pieced the quilt top together on my Janome sewing machine, and after I sandwiched  the batting, backing fabric and the quilt top together I quilted all 1,000 plus 2x2 inch squares by hand around the edges......it's called echo stitching/quilting. I look forward to finishing a few more of my current quilting projects that are laying in bins currently awaiting my crafty hands to call upon them!

I also like to scrapbook, cook, garden, knit, make wee folk...etc.

Ciao for now!

  1. Wow, that quilt is amazing! I've always loved quilts... would love to learn how to do it myself. I think it's more than a hobby, it's a talent too! ;)
