{me and my unique self}

How would people describe your personality? (If they could only use ONE word.) Are they right?

Can it PLEASE be a run-on-sentence or a compound word instead of just {ONE} word? haha Well, my friends consensus has told me that I am indescribable, bold and unique. I know that my boyfriend's consensus is that I am lovely. I think I am unique. Let me demonstrate the unique me for you, okay? I love shoes to death, but I hate wearing them. I'd prefer to go barefoot 24/7. I love watching British Period Piece films, but I also love sci-fi creature flick movies from the 70's and 80's. I love contemporary things, but I also love old worn victorian things too. There's a lot of other contradictory and unique things that I do/about me, but I dare not list them all for fear of scaring ya'll silly (hehe!) To make it simple on you all I should just mention that my personality type is an INFJ, and that my friends will probably explain the whole unique thing for you quite well.

What celebrity/celebrities would create a “Star-Struck” feeling if you saw them in real life?

As far as the guys go: Jared Padalecki, Christian Bale, Jay Baruschel, Gerard Butler (a Scotsman *le sigh*), Hugh Dancy,  Ioan Gruffud, Ben Barnes, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jim Parsons.

As far as the gals go: Emmy Rossum, Bryce Dallas Howard, Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley, Ellen Page, Mia Wasikowska and Amanda Bynes.

Who is your favorite blogger? Why?

Okay, so I am going to go with everyone I follow. Really, if I follow you it's because I really really like you and your blog and I hope to become more inspired by you daily! If I had to choose only {ONE} favorite blogger though I would have to say Lynette S. She is the beautiful woman who told me that I could be a writer and encouraged me in all of my writing endeavors (blogging, poetry and otherwise), and she is also the reason that I started my blog in the first place!

What is your comfort food/drink?

If I can get a chance to go out and eat my comfort food I most definitely go for Carrabba's Chicken Parmigiana and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. If I am at home however I really love eating chocolate covered strawberries, frozen mango chunks and momma's baked ziti. (btw- my comfort drink is Starbuck's Cafe Verona Coffee with Hazelnut Creamer and sweetened with Truvia.)

Be brave – tell us something very random and weird about yourself.

I am scared to death to go into the Ambercrombie & Fitch and Hollister stores. Yes, I admit it. Those stores are dark, closed in and filled with plumes of wafting perfume....so in other words for me it is an unpleasant sensory overload that frightens the poo out of me. I did manage to go into one for a few minutes (like 2 minutes max) one time, but it totally freaked me out. I hate enclosed spaces and have bad allergies....so yeah.

Do you have a strong desire to do something you’ve never done? What is it?

Yes. I want to be a lead vocalist in a band. Yep, I said it. I've been in a worship band before as a keyboardist and a backup vocalist, but I'd really love to be back in a band again as the female lead vocalist!

Movies: Action, Drama, Romantic Comedy, Documentary, Comedy? What are your favorite genres?

I actually like pretty much every genre in that list. I love everything from Indiana Jones to The Phantom of the Opera. One genre that I noticed that was not listed is Sci-fi. I LOVE sci-fi films! I am also an avid watcher of all things BBC and period piece drama related. The only movie genre that I don't care for at all really is Horror films. The only way to get me to sit through a Horror flick is to put on the old black and white varieties, like White Zombie, Frankenstein, House On Haunted Hill, House Of Wax, The House Of Usher, etc. The only current horror flick that I like (if you can call it that) is The Rite (2011), which I will be reviewing in the next week or so on my blog in a movie review series on So-Called-Christian-Films.

Books: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Romance, Biographies, True Stories, Self-Help, Devotional/Study? What are your favorite types of reading material?

I am just not a non-fiction book person. I am just simply too much of a dreamer to enjoy them. I am an idealist after all! I honestly prefer to read fiction, fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, the classics and devotional books.

Music: Funk, Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, Film Score, Blues, Classic Rock, Crooner, Alternative, Heavy Metal, Techno? What are your favorite types?

I love Rock/Hard Rock, Alternative, Pop, Jazz, Classical, Film Score, Indie, Acoustic, Hip Hop (this is a thing of rarity) and so many other various styles. I am a piano teacher who loves her music, and I am always really super excited to find a new artist or band to soothe my ears or make me feel strong and anthemic.

What’s something you consider yourself to be good at? (Don’t worry, it’s not bragging, it’s
acknowledging a God given gift).

I think that I am a fairly good writer/poet, a pianist, photographer and singer. I love to do all of these things, and others have readily and often told me that I am excellent at these things. I only wish to use my gifts to HIS glory!

What is one of your favorite things to catch a whiff of?

Starbucks Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans, With Love fragrance, freshly cut lumber, Italian food, dog paws (they smell like fritos and buttered popcorn, weird huh?) and mountain air.

If money wasn’t a factor, what stores would you shop in?

Anthropologie, Fossil, The Frye Company, Ruche, ModCloth, Spotted Moth, Barberry & lace (Etsy Shoppe) and Sweet and Simple Jewelry Design (Etsy Shoppe.)

{the source from whence my fear first started, ahem ::clears throat::, the fish bowl - image via: weheartit.com}
What is your greatest fear or strange phobia?

I have ichthyphobia. Yes, my dears I am indeed desperately afraid of ::shudder:: fish. It all started when I was a very young girl (around 3-4?) and I had a large (like 4 foot long) glass fish tank in my bedroom. Momma was cleaning out the tank one day and she put my fish in a little bowl, and as I walked by the little green tupperware bowl the fish decided to leap out of the bowl and into the air, it sailed higher and higher up until gravity took over and the goldfish splattered his fishy slimy self all over my bare foot. At that point I was screaming and grossed out. Fast forward a little while later to my grandparents back yard where they had a fairly large fish pond, okay. Little Sarah decided to go play around it one day and I slipped and fell in with the wriggling fishies. Blech! Then there was my fishing trip with my grandpa when I was about 6 or so years old. I was excited to go fishing and to experience something new with Grandpa, but little did I know that I would catch a humongous ugly whiskered catfish and that while reeling him in on my pole I would lean back and that sucker would fly forward swinging into my face with his nasty whiskery mouth blub blub blubbing all up in my face. Yeah....I am just done with fish okay! End of story. Period.

What is your greatest accomplishment?

At this very moment it is that I am a stronger, less fearful, young woman today than I was yesterday, because God is working within me and my life.

What are your favorite animals?

I am a cats and dogs kinda girl. I am dying to get an Alaskan Malamute/Siberian Husky dog, and a Siamese cat at some point in my nearly forseen future.

Are you a hopeless romantic?

Yes, I think I am. I love honest emotions, and heart-felt stories of persevering and unwavering love, through distance and through trials. Le sigh!

What movie or book character can you most relate to?

As far as movie/literary characters are concerned I am much like Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Meg Murray from A Wrinkle In Time, Jo March from Little Women and Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. I am bookish and sing like Belle. I am shy at times and don't really knows what lies within me that I specifically and specially possess all of my very own like Meg in her search for what she had; love. I am like Jo in that I am a big time dreamer, outspoken, klutzy and a writer.  I am like Lizzie in that I am headstrong, can sometimes prejudge others (not so good) and in being a loyal and very loving friend.

  1. Hehe, I almost put all the same ones you did for what book or movie character I am like. Truly, I thought of all the exact same ones before deciding not to go with any of them!

  5. i can't stand going into abercrombie & fitch or hollister either. it's just way too dark for me. and too much perfume - it irritates my poor, allergy-prone nose. and it's just way too expensive!

love the picture of the goldfish with the shark fin!

i've never read a wrinkle in time but i'd identify with all the other literary characters you'd mention - and for all the same reasons!

  6. That pic of the shark/fish was hilarious! Thanks for the laugh this morning Princess!

  8. Enjoyed reading all of your answers! I agree with you on Christian Bale...one of my fav actors!! I'm a HUUUUUUUUGE Batman Fan.

I've always identified with Joe from Little Women! One of my favorite books, and movies...ever.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries...Mmmm...love 'em! Josh likes them too, so it's a fun treat for us instead of traditional "desserts".

I STILL have not read a Wrinkle in Time, but I recently read a "young adult" book that she had wrote. I can't wait to read more of her work, because I truly enjoyed her writing style!

Okay, that was a very long comment...sorry! ;-)

  14. Wow - I think with that many bad experiences with fish, I wouldn't like them so well either. I wonder if I might even not even eat them?
